Gregory Lamberson is an award winning filmmaker and author who specializes in the horror genre. Raised in Fredonia, New York, Lamberson studied filmmaking at New York's School of Visual Arts.He is best known for his cult films "Slime City" and its sequel "Slime City Massacre," as well as the novels in his supernatural action series The Jake Helman Files: "Personal Demons," "Desperate Souls," "Cosmic Forces" and "Tortured Spirits." His novels include "Johnny Gruesome" and the first two books in The Frenzy Cycle werewolf series, "The Frenzy Way" and "The Frenzy War." His instructional filmmaking book, "Cheap Scares: Low Budget Horror Filmmakers Share Their Secrets," is used as a textbook in film schools. In 2013, his novel "The Julian Year" will be the first TREEbook from Medallion Press: a Timed Reading Experience E-book employing cutting edge time triggers and branching technology.Lamberson's early films "Undying Love" and "Naked Fear" are included in the 2-disc DVD "Greg Lamberson's Slime City Grindhouse Collection," available from POP Cinema. He worked as the production manager on the film "I Was a Teenage Zombie" before writing and directing "Slime City," then worked as the 1st assistant director on "Plutonium Baby" and Frank Henenlotter's "Brain Damage." "Slime City" and "Undying Love" played as a midnight movies in NYC. Lamberson worked as Phil Gallo's 1st AD and associate producer on the crime drama "West New York." In 2012, he worked as the Line Producer and 1st Assistant Director on "Model Hunger," the directorial debut of Debbie Rochon, and as the 1st Assistant Director on the werewolf film "Ward's Island."Lamberson is a three-time Bram Stoker Award finalist for his fiction. "Johnny Gruesome" and "Personal Demons" won the the IPPY Gold Medal for Horror. "Slime City Massacre" won the Polished Apple's Best Sequel award, as well as "Biggest Baddest Mother of the PollyGrind" at the PollyGrind Film Festival; Best Actress for Debbie Rochon at the Eerie Horror Film Festival; Best Scream Queen for Brooke Lewis at the Golden Cob Awards; and Best Actor for Kealan Patrick Burke at the PollyGrind.In 2010, Lamberson co-founded the Buffalo Screams Horror Film Festival, and in 2011 he co-produced "Snow Shark: Ancient Snow Beast." He is producing "Dry Bones," for which he wrote the screenplay, in 2013.
