Joe Burke Biography

Joe Burke received his MFA in Directing from the American Film Institute (AFI) in 2009. Like some of his favorite filmmakers, Burke's work focuses on capturing those honest relatable moments in life, in both its comedic and dramatic form, which he considers to be a very thin line. Burke discovered his passion for filmmaking at a very early age, making one short film after another in the backyard with his friends, until eventually his path led him to downtown Chicago after high school where he earned his BA in Film and a minor in Theater from Columbia College Chicago. In 2007, upon being accepted into the AFI Conservatory for Directing, Burke packed up his bags and drove out west to continue his adventures in Los Angeles, California.
