Maggie Kiley Biography

Filmmaker and actor Maggie Kiley directed and co-wrote the award winning short film Some Boys Don't Leave which stars actor Jesse Eisenberg. She was one of eight women selected out of hundreds of applicants to take part in American Film Institute's prestigious Directing Workshop for Women and the film was made as part of her participation in the program. Maggie received the Student Visionary Award at the 2010 Tribeca Film Festival and the Alexis Award for Best Emerging Filmmaker at the Palm Springs International Shortfest. Some Boys has played in over thirty festivals and continues to screen internationally. Maggie has developed a feature film inspired by the short entitled Light Years and was recently awarded the New Filmmaker Grant from Panavision for this project. Other upcoming works include the feature film Phobic with Zero Gravity and the web series Crazy Little Thing for Phillip Seymour Hoffman's Cooperstown Productions.As an actress, Maggie has appeared in film, television and on stage. She has worked most extensively at off-Broadway's Atlantic Theater Company in New York where she is one of just 40 ensemble members. Maggie received her BFA from New York University and appeared in several notable off-Broadway productions. She has been fortunate to work with such great film and television directors as James Gray, Daisy von Scherler Mayer, Rob Bailey and Documentarian Nathaniel Kahn. She most recently appeared in Andrew Jarecki's feature All Good Things alongside Ryan Gosling, Kirsten Dunst and Frank Langella.
