The original film is in deed a classic, this one is OK. I watched the Wizard of Oz many times and was blown away to find out it was made in 1939, amazing considering the special effects were flawless and color was far off in that time in a regular sense. This is definitely worth watching but is not in the same realm of that film, no comparison.

Loved this movie! It's one of my favorites. Watch it as a stand alone movie. Don't try and measure it up to the 1939 version (which is a classic and can't be compared). The beginning is supposed to be in black and white, it's supposed to be a cool little nod/homage to the 1939 version.

The first 21 mins is in black and white the rest is color. Really really really good film!!!
